About Our Congregation
When you visit Landmark, our congregation members will greet you like family. The overflowing of hugs, heart-felt hellos, and how-are-you-doings from our members are what makes visiting our church feel like “coming home.” We encourage you to attend and experience the fellowship and Christian love with which our congregation so freely gives to members and visitors alike.
About Our Pastor
Pastor Uriel Pina and his wife Mary have been leading our church for a few years now, having moved from a previous pastor position at a church in Alabama.
We believe Pastor Uriel is truly anointed by God as our leader and brings God’s powerful message to us multiple times per week, with his own unique style of preaching combining a deep focus on scripture with a kind and humorous speaking style to make every sermon feel engaging and relevant to you, now.
The Pina’s have been a huge blessing to the Church, helping lead in every area and aspect of the Church’s services and outreach. They have worked tirelessly and given generously of their time, labor, and leadership to our flock, sometimes 7 days a week, without rest.
Their children Victoria, Sophia, and UJ follow their parent’s examples and give generously of their time and labor to the church, outreach, choir, Sunday school, VBS, as well as giving out plenty of free hugs!
The Pastor’s wife, Mary Pina, brings her exceptional musical talent to us nearly every Sunday, serenading us with her lovely worship music or hymns. Pastor Uriel, Mary, Victoria and Sophia all participate in the church choir as well.
The Pina family is also heavily involved in outreach, service missions, and local service and they can frequently be found outside of church services doing something for someone in need, such as donating time to counsel those in need of counseling, providing free labor by mowing lawns or repairing fences for those in need, collecting donations locally, or helping feed and clothe the poor or needy right here in our own backyard of Pensacola.
Basic Beliefs about the Christian Faith
What does it mean to be a Christian? Some people think you become a Christian by joining a church. Others think you are born a Christian. Still others think you are a Christian if you believe in God. But what does the Bible say?
In the Bible it is written:
“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God…”
Romans 3:23
“For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”
Romans 6:23
So the Bible says that we have sinned, and the result of our sins is death – eternal separation from God. But according to the Bible we can be reconciled to God and have eternal life because of Jesus (God’s Son).
“And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son/ He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath no life.”
1 John 5:11-12
No amount of good deeds or religious activity will remove our sins from us. Only Jesus has the power to bring us back to God and forgive us of our sin. He did this by suffering and dying on the cross in our place, taking our sins upon Him. Will you receive God’s gift of salvation today? You will never be a true follower of Jesus Christ until you do.
There are three things you must do:
Admit you are a sinner and have done wrong things
“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”
1 John 1:9
Believe that Jesus died and rose again for your sins
“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in
thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.”
Romans 10:9
Confess (acknowledge) Jesus as your Lord and Saviour
“For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
Romans 10:13
If you want to be a true follower of Christ, you have to surrender your life and your rights to Him, putting God in control. You can do this right now by just talking to Him – that’s the simplicity of prayer. Tell Him you are a sinner. Ask Him to forgive you and thank Him for offering the gift of forgiveness and life through Jesus Christ. If you do make this decision, let us know. We delight in helping people become fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ!
What can I expect when I arrive at Landmark?
We know that walking into a new place is sometimes difficult. You will be welcomed warmly and you will discover quickly that we are here to love Jesus, love you and your family. You will sing, pray, hear preaching from God’s word and make some new friends to join you on your journey of faith.
What Version of the Bible Do You Use?
Whereas there are several translations of the Bible in use today, here at Landmark we teach and preach exclusively from the King James Version of the Bible (KJV). If you are in need of a Bible, we will gladly provide you with one.
What Are Sunday Mornings Like?
We gather in the sanctuary to sing a hymn, to pray and to say the pledges (American Flag, Christian Flag, and to the Bible) before being dismissed to various Bible Studies. Once classes are over, we gather in the sanctuary to begin worship.
What do you have for my children?
We have a nursery for our younger children, and Bible study classes for all children on Sunday Mornings and Sunday Nights. We also have a Children’s Church for young children that takes place during the 11 AM Worship time. Youth activities are always being planned from movie night to trips to the beach. Join with us as we minister to our children and young people.
Giving and Money
Sunday Mornings: Operating expenses of the Church, with 10% designated to the Mission Fund.
Sunday Night: In addition to the normal offering, a brass bowl is passed. These funds are designated to the Youth Fund.
Wed. Night: All offering is designated to send our youth to camp each year at Barin Field Youth Camp in Foley, AL.
Members are encouraged to give, whether it be the tithe or as there is need (Acts 2:45). While visitors are not expected to give, we will use all money to further the Kingdom of God.

Worship consists of singing (blended, but currently leans toward traditional), prayer, a message from God’s Word and an invitation to accept Christ as Lord and Savior or for a believer to recommit his or her life to the Lord.
